LEAH’S MERMAID
LEAH’S MERMAID is a girl-meets-mermaid tale with a twist to celebrate empathy, courage, and friendship. In magical-realism genre, Leah, an independent girl who gets about by wheelchair, rescues an entangled mermaid. When she realizes she must return her new friend to the ocean she herself fears, she accepts the mermaid’s invitation to experience her home, the sea.

A quirky, 201 word, illustrated picture book for ages 3 - 7, celebrates a boy’s discovery that he possesses a powerful tool not found in his trusty toolbox: empathy.
